For gigs the BVB dress code is as follows:

 Dress Code

Colours – basically yellow / green (…shades of) against black / white.

Black trousers or skirt / white shirt or blouse / black , green or yellow waistcoat (optional), necktie in summer colours (optional).

Hats: top hat, bowler or straw hat decorated with flowers.

Ladies may prefer to wear flowery dresses.

Music stands decorated with flowers if possible.

Examples for new members.

Chris (the epitome of elegance) will wear: Black trousers, white shirt, black waistcoat decorated with a flower and a top hat decorated with a flower.

Liz will wear green or black trousers, white blouse, green waistcoat decorated with a flower, a black tailcoat if cold and a bowler or straw hat.

Helen will wear black trousers, white blouse, waistcoat and bowler or straw hat decorated with flowers.
