Busy weekend – 9th and 10th June

Saturday 9th June: 3pm Henleaze Street Party.

Meet at 23, The Crescent, Henleaze. BS9 4RP at 1.45 for a run through and then to set up in the street. Food / tea / coffee will be available in the street after we have played.

Intro’s (including for dances): Helen unless stated  – or unless someone else would like to step up. We have a good squeezebox and strummers line up, so it would be nice to have volunteers here.

Summer Hummer will be played while the opening ceremony led by Briggy the Brigstowe Hoss takes place.

The setlist can be found here. They have requested dancing. Also the running order may be broken by a 15 min Scottish Dancing demonstration.

Remember: We will meet to rehearse at the Youth Hall, Long Ashton Community Centre on Friday 8 June at 7.30pm. Please try to make it as we will run through as much of the setlist as possible.

Sunday 10 June: Rookery Farm Garden Party.

Artspace Gig, Ashton Court, Saturday 19 May, 2 – 3pm . New updated setlist.

Liz and Fritjof have visited Ashton Court with the organisers today.

Please see message below from Liz:

We will be playing at the entrance on the west side of the main building from 2 -3pm. Please arrive by 1.20pm to set up. It is a very pleasant sunny spot and it should be a relaxing and enjoyable gig and a worthwhile cause to support.

Please see map below for parking and drop off access.

IMG_2716Food is being sold by Food Without Borders, run by Women’s Refugee Organisations in Bristol.  Chris and Fritjof and I will be lunching there beforehand if anyone would like to join us. I am going to get hold of some bunting so help to string it between the trees will be welcome. They are televising the Royal Wedding and some of the crowd may be in wedding gear – feel free to reflect this.

We will play tunes indicated in new updated setlist which can be found here. It will be a ‘passing’ crowd – so only a couple of voices. If there is a will to dance you will have me doing a first time stab at calling some simple dances – see additional tunes. Introductions are Helen unless indicated otherwise (let me know if there are any problems).

We have 11 players. If you haven’t signed up and are free, come and join us – but please let me know you are coming.

Look forward to seeing you

Liz
